About the Role:

Job Description: Associate Director - FP&A, Projects

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented FP&A professional to join our team, focusing on the financial planning and analysis of key projects. This role is crucial in providing financial insights and driving process improvements for project accounting, an area of great focus at OSTTRA as we invest in new product development. Initially, you will run a manual spreadsheet based project performance tracking and staff capitalisation process, leveraging your analytical and communication skills to provide accurate forecasting and reporting. Over the next 12 months we will explore introducing systems to support the capitalisation and broader projects process, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth integration and maximizing the benefits of automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Financial Planning & Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for project budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
    • Analyze project performance against budget, identify variances, and provide insightful commentary to stakeholders
    • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management
    • Work closely with project managers to understand project scope, timelines, and potential risks and opportunities
    • Operate the staff time capitalisation process for OSTTRA, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and IFRS and provide support to the audit process
    • Perform ad hoc analysis as requested
  • Process Improvement & System Implementation:
    • Identify and document existing manual processes within project finance, highlighting areas for improvement and potential automation
    • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new financial systems, contributing to the development of business requirements
    • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders to ensure a successful system implementation, including data migration and user training
    • Develop and implement standardized financial processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
    • After system implementation, ensure accurate reporting and forecasting from the newly implemented system, and optimize its use
Qualifications:
  • Qualified accountant with minimum of 5+ years of experience in FP&A, with a focus on project finance
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and question the information being provided
  • Experience working with manual financial processes and a proven track record of driving process improvements
  • Experience with system implementation projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Smartsheets
  • Excellent communication skills including a record of building strong working relationships with non-financial colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
