Job Summary

SCB is currently recruiting a motivated and detail-oriented eDiscovery Associate Director to join its Legal eDiscovery & Data Advisory (“eDDA”) team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of our Legal function, supporting an experienced in-house team of data, forensic and legal experts and will be pivotal to delivering a successful data journey for our Investigation, Litigation & Regulatory matters.

This position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals beginning their career in eDiscovery and offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise within a team at the forefront of the intersection between law and technology. We are seeking individuals who have an interest in digital forensics or data analysis and are keen to drive forward technology solutions for our legal problems. Key Responsibilities

  1. Build and maintain an effective and constructive relationship with all key business and functional stakeholders that is based on trust, capability, and integrity, providing timely, responsive, and quality support to enable the Bank to achieve its strategic objectives.
  2. Assist to deliver the Legal functions Investigation and Legal eDiscovery matters.
  3. Provide timely advice to our Lawyers and Investigators on aspects of relevant legal discovery and disclosure frameworks.
  4. Work with our external service providers to execute time-sensitive managed document review.
  5. Supporting our Lawyers and Investigators with eDiscovery challenges. You will help us support the development of proportionate Legal data review methodologies and provide expert solutions to support our matters.
  6. Assist in the execution of data collections from the Banks systems in a quality controlled and documented manner.
  7. Ensure the functions eDiscovery practice is carried out in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  8. Helping our Lawyers and Investigators use our “Relativity” eDiscovery review platform and provide training to other members of the function as and when required.
  9. Support the team in collation of MI, ensuring relevant management information and key performance indicators are provided to all key internal stakeholders.
  10. Support our innovation pillar, ensuring we always have the right technology to support our stakeholders.
  11. Act to minimise operational loss, audit failures, and take proactive measures to respond to matters arising.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

  1. A degree (or equivalent) in a technology, numerate or business-related subject.
  2. You must be naturally curious about how technology and data can support our legal investigations. You should have a keen interest in the legal and investigative process, have a problem-solving mindset and understand the basic concepts of how technology can help uncover insights from large data sets.
  3. Excellent communication skills, including being able to translate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  4. An ability to manage time and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
  5. Ability to work within a team environment and help support the team’s growth and business objectives.
  6. You should be familiar with basic eDiscovery concepts, including the utilisation of technology (e.g. Relativity) to search, sort and review large amounts of electronic data for Investigations or Litigation.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

  1. Experience working in a digital forensics or eDiscovery corporate environment.
  2. Previous experience and knowledge of the eDiscovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  3. Previous experience and knowledge of Relativity and other eDiscovery tools.
  4. Basic knowledge and understanding of SQL, Python or other scripting languages.
