Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic Associate Director to join our specialist Supply Chain Assurance team to lead our South East Regional team and assist our continuing growth and make the difference to both our business and our clients. Our Supply Chain Assurance service offers clients a range of audit/assurance support including commercial assurance, cost verification, contract compliance and supply chain capability reviews.

You will be an Associate Director within our UK Infrastructure business working within our specialist Supply Chain Assurance team to be accountable for a diverse, skilled and growing team to provide our services to a wide range of clients including major programmes and projects. The main purpose of the role is:

  • Lead our South East Supply Chain Assurance team providing experience, leadership and support the UK National Supply Chain Assurance service lead to develop the service.
  • Lead commissions with expertise and authority with minimal support to strategically guide and navigate the completion of our service.
  • Work with a diverse team of backgrounds and skillsets, leading and aiding members to facilitate their development and growth including taking line management responsibility.
  • Deliver successful Cost & Supply Chain Assurance commissions on behalf of Turner & Townsend acting as the key contact for clients including senior stakeholders.
  • Take a lead in the ongoing refinement of internal training and product management in relation to the service line.
  • Take a prominent and leading role in regional bids and business generation activities.
  • Take a prominent and leading role in strategically shaping the clients and opportunities in our South East region by engaging with our key client leads, other service leads and South East Cost Centre Lead.

Job Objectives:

  • Support the UK Supply Chain Assurance service lead to present performance and opportunities for the South East region reporting on revenue, margin performance and opportunities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the South East team for technical matters and also peer review of significant or complex outputs.
  • To provide proactive leadership to the team to promote teamwork, innovation and best practice ways of working.
  • To engage with senior leaders in the South East region to represent the Supply Chain Assurance service positively and to help identify new opportunities.
  • Provide a senior level of engagement and expertise to support new clients in a strategic way to open up audit/assurance work for the wider team and foster good quality working relationships with them based on trust, professionalism and quality of service outputs.
  • The role will also include the requirement for the individual to support the team with undertaking elements of cost/commercial assurance and audit work and as such a robust understanding of the work is critical.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Leadership - experience in leading a team in a consultancy environment.
  • Performance reporting - experience in recording and presenting on performance (such as revenue, costs, margin and utilisation).
  • Assurance/audit within the construction industry.
  • Construction industry technical matters - such as different procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, calculation of pain/gain amounts etc.
  • Contract Management - NEC3/4 (Option C, E) preferred.
  • Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to cost.
  • Report writing - communicating complex messages succinctly to maximise impact in written formats.
  • People and organisational management - experience of working in a team environment and handling a variable workload through peaks and troughs.
  • Presentation skills - be a confident speaker who can influence and engage with a multitude of stakeholders including senior individuals both internally and within client organisations.
  • Professional Scepticism - Can challenge in a professional and constructive way to safeguard the completion of our services, maintaining independence and integrity, ensuring consistent quality.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Holds an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent (i.e. MRICS, ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.).
