Our client is a boutique Corporate Finance business looking for an Associate to join its growing M&A practice, to support with deal execution and deal origination. The team has a strong local reputation and regularly closes high profile transactions. It advises private equity, corporate and entrepreneurial clients on strategic reviews, acquisitions, disposals, mergers, leveraged transactions and finance raisings and currently has a healthy book of live deals and near-term opportunities.

To continue building on the success of our Corporate Finance team, there is an opportunity for an experienced M&A Assistant Director to join the team.

A successful candidate will reflect this passion for the M&A industry and the growth of our business. The selected individual will demonstrate market presence and have a proven track record in corporate finance origination and execution. Team-building acumen and experience will be vital, as we intend to expand the team to support this crucial senior appointment.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for day to day management of the execution of M&A and fund raising transactions
  • Help drive revenue growth, originate transaction ideas, build client relationships and all associated business development activities to expand our business
  • Contribute fully to all aspects of practice management including: developing, coaching and managing team members, client account management and driving a culture of inclusivity, operational excellence and quality

Skills and attributes for success

  • High degree of personal drive and motivation to succeed
  • Strong experience in a corporate finance environment, including experience playing a lead role in executing transactions as an M&A advisor
  • Proven leader, manager and motivator of people
  • Demonstrable track record of executing corporate finance transactions – especially mergers and acquisitions, including financial modelling, negotiation, commercial and financial skills
  • Track record of successfully working within a team to win new business
