Job description

How do you ensure self-development of new engineering skills and experience?

This role comes with a broad scope and exposure to many different projects. You will interact with every engineering department and support function in the company which is great for your engineering development and raising your profile. Guided by experts you will grow new skills whilst contributing to a net zero future.

You will join a truly inclusive, Substation Infrastructure team who are responsible for delivering a high volume portfolio of low to medium value infrastructure projects covering Civils, building infrastructure, auxiliary equipment specifically LVAC solutions and standby diesel generators.

You will support a multi-disciplined investment team covering LVAC solutions and standby diesel generators in the project setup, option selection, development, sanction, tender and contract award of investments. Initially you will be supporting the team then progress towards leading your own portfolios during pre-construction phases through to delivery, actively managing key stakeholders to ensure their timely input and agreement to the selection and development of investments, pursuant to timely approvals, ensuring efficient delivery of projects.

This role will be supporting a portfolio of projects on the west side of England and Wales so ideally this is where you will be based, come with hybrid working, a mix of office, site, and home.

Must haves:

  1. Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant experience.
  2. An understanding of substation auxiliary systems - project and/or contract management practice.
  3. You will have strong commercial acumen with demonstrable experience of supporting cross functional teams and a stakeholder-centric approach.
  4. CDM Regs, Health & Safety and Environmental legislation knowledge.

Desirable:

  1. Membership of a relevant professional body - if not we will support you.

Pay and Benefits:

  1. A starting salary of £45,521 to £50,000 pa + Training and Development.
  2. 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days.
  3. The option to buy additional or sell holiday days.
  4. Generous contributory pension scheme - we will double-match your 6% contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. Totalling 18%.
