We are now recruiting a highly motivated and experienced Associate Building Surveyor to manage and lead a new team of Building Surveyors in the South of England.

This role involves a combination of team leadership, business development, and professional/project surveying work. This is an opportunity for the right candidate to build their own team, client base and workload, with support of the existing established Building Surveying teams in the North.

Job Description:

What you'll be doing :

  • Team Leadership:
    • Build, manage and lead a team of Building Surveyors, ensuring effective collaboration and support from existing teams in the North.
    • Provide mentorship and line management to junior surveyors, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Business Development:
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including preparing and developing bid opportunities.
    • Prepare fee proposals for new work and introduce new clients to Capita's services.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Professional & Project Surveying Work:
    • Undertake all aspects of professional & project surveying work, including building surveys, party wall (PW) work, dilapidations, fire safety advice, and reinstatement cost assessments (RCA), dependent upon particular experience and skill sets.
    • Manage and deliver projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Financial Management:
    • Manage monthly fee targets, ensuring these are achieved and contribute to the overall financial performance.

What we're looking for :
  • Professional qualifications such as RICS, CIOB, or similar, including a degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Proficient post-qualification experience in building surveying.
  • Demonstrated experience in line management and mentoring responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without supervision.
