Associate/Assistant Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications

Corporate Affairs & Communications Department

We handle leading corporate communications, branding and marketing, partnerships, social impact, and other communications with internal and external collaborators. Our team plays a key role in positioning GIC as the leading global long-term investor.

What will you do as an Associate/Assistant Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Communications?

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Affairs and Communications, EMEA, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent written skills, great stakeholder management and sound judgment, as well as an interest in the asset management industry. In addition, you will be part of a high performing global team and have wide exposure to executive leadership and other teams in GIC.

  1. Support internal and external communications. These include leading compilation of the monthly internal London newsletter, writing intranet articles and working with head office on global initiatives, as well as contributing to investment transaction communications and thought leadership efforts for GIC.

  2. Work with teams across the business, eg investment teams and corporate services, to source and develop engaging content for the global intranet.

  3. Liaise with key portfolio companies to manage issues / crises that may pose a reputational risk to GIC.

  4. Organise external and internal communications events, such as townhalls, partners’ and flagship events.

  5. Implement internal and external communications strategies that are aligned with HQ’s priorities and aimed at building our culture or enabling key external stakeholders to understand GIC.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  1. 3-6 years of communications and corporate affairs experience; a financial services background is not necessary. In addition to those with in-house experience, candidates with an agency background or former journalists are welcome too.

  2. Connect easily with stakeholders inside and outside GIC.

  3. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal, and attention to detail.

  4. Ability to work across borders, cultures and time zones, and demonstrated flexibility of communication style in order to operate effectively.

  5. Excellent time management and an ability to juggle multiple pieces of work and deadlines.

  6. Familiarity with MS Office Suite & any video editing tools.

  7. Possess social media experience.

  8. Highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a global team.
