Assistant Urban Designer Job in Leeds, West Yorkshire
New opening for an Assistant Urban Designer job joining an architectural and planning consultancy in Leeds, working on a varied portfolio of work that will support your career advancement. Please be aware this role requires a minimum of 1 year UK experience and they are unable to provide VISA sponsorship.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work at various scales from high-level masterplans through to small-scale interventions and contribute to the design of places from concept through to planning.
- Collate key information about a site/project, including political, environmental, social, economic and spatial considerations.
- Support the creation of top-quality planning documents, including visions, design and access statements, design codes, feasibility studies, and related drawings.
- Collaborate with the planning team to ensure compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Attend site visits and client meetings to provide input and gather information.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, design teams, and stakeholders as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar level role.
- A 'can-do' attitude and ability to be proactive, use initiative and work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- Strong visual presentation skills, with expertise in 3D modelling, hand sketching, rendering, urban design diagrams, and technical drawing.
- Relevant degree in architecture, urban design/planning, or built environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, to create compelling presentation materials and reports.
