As an Assistant Urban Designer, you'll assist the current team of master planners, architects, and planners working with developers, local communities, authorities, and other consultants on urban extensions, urban regeneration, and development masterplans.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work at various scales from high-level masterplans through to small-scale interventions and contribute to the design of places from concept through to planning.
- Collate key information about a site/project, including political, environmental, social, economic, and spatial considerations.
- Support the creation of top-quality planning documents, including visions, design and access statements, design codes, feasibility studies, and related drawings.
- Collaborate with the planning team to ensure compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Attend site visits and client meetings to provide input and gather information.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, design teams, and stakeholders as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar level role.
- A 'can-do' attitude and ability to be proactive, use initiative, and work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- Strong visual presentation skills, with expertise in 3D modelling, hand sketching, rendering, urban design diagrams, and technical drawing.
- Relevant degree in architecture, urban design/planning, or built environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator, to create compelling presentation materials and reports.
