We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Underwriter. You will provide key underwriting services (including New Business, mid-term adjustments and renewals) to Aviva's Private Client (APC) panel of brokers, working closely with your peers to provide and maintain a high level of service to ensure that the APC division meets and exceeds retention and growth targets.

By creating strong working relationships with brokers, you will build their confidence in us, to make sure that APC is their insurer of choice. You must also be confident when it comes to problem solving - i.e., identifying and understanding the problem at hand, using a customer thinking approach to identify solutions for continuous improvement of customer experience.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Prior experience working in an Underwriting or Broker focused role for an insurance provider in High Net Worth Home or Motor (Preferred - not essential)
  • Exposure to working in the High Net Worth / Private Clients space, with strong market awareness (including competitors, market trends and brokers) (Preferred - not essential)
  • Strong communication skills - i.e., ability to present to, and influence, clients (i.e., brokers), building up strong working relationships
  • Strong numerical skillset matched with a team player mentality and excellent organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulations and legislations

What you'll get for this role:

  • Salary of Circa £32,000 depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in.
  • 29 days' holiday plus bank holidays, and you can choose to buy or sell up to 5 days.
  • Make your money go further - Up to 40% discount on Aviva products, and other retailer discounts.
  • Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares per year through our Matching Share Plan and share in the success of Aviva with our Save As You Earn scheme.
  • Brilliantly supportive policies including parental and carer's leave.
  • Flexible benefits to suit you, including sustainability options such as cycle to work.
  • Make a difference, be part of our Aviva Communities and use your 3 paid volunteering days to help others.
  • We take your wellbeing seriously with lots of support and tools.
