Assistant Transport Manager

Salary: c35k + Excellent Prospects + Benefits
Location: Lutterworth
Schedule: Mon - Friday - Days

Our client is a major FMCG distributor in the UK. We are delighted to assist them in their search for a CPC qualified Assistant Transport Manager at their site in Lutterworth.

Note that this is a smaller operation that is continuing to grow, making it ideal for a candidate who is still on their transport career journey.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day transport operation in a cost-effective manner, adapting daily plans when required.
• Ensure vehicle compliance and security.
• Manage resources effectively.
• Exceed all customer KPIs and operational deadlines.
• Assist in the creation of weekly P & L accounts.
• Work closely with 3PL clients.
• Oversee health and safety regulations, accident and incident management and reporting, including investigations.
• Manage individual performance and attendance.
• Recruit, train, and motivate the transport team.
• Manage and supply Drivers CPC training.
• Handle staff disciplinary and grievance procedures.
• Report potential quality issues, including hygiene, security, and damage issues, and resolve them effectively.
• Rotate with team to provide out of hours cover.

Experience Needed

• CPC qualified Transport experience.
• Proficient in PC / transport planning.
• In-depth knowledge of transport operations.
• Up-to-date knowledge of commercial vehicle-related legislation.
• Health & Safety training and qualification.
• Budgetary experience.
• KPI production and management.
• Proven experience in building effective teams.
