An established industry player in mental health services is seeking an Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner to join their dynamic team. Alliance is a leading local children's mental health provider delivering psychological support and emotional well-being services in a range of educational settings across Teesside, supporting a whole school approach to improving children's mental health and wellbeing. We also provide psychological therapies to children and families with multiple and complex needs. Through the Children and Young Peoples Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) Programme and the implementation of Mental Health Support Teams, our service transformation is through the delivery of evidence-based therapies, use of routine outcome measures and in full collaboration with children, young people and families.
As an assistant EMHP you will collaborate with qualified EMHPs and Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs), providing psychoeducation to children, young people and their families experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Upon availability of an EMHP training place (scheduled for Oct 25/26) you'll engage in an academic programme with Northumbria University and be trained to deliver low-intensity evidence-based CBT interventions leading to a recognised qualification. During training and with effective guidance and supervision, you will provide a range of interventions in schools and across local communities, helping to develop a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing and supporting the wider delivery of Children's Mental Health & Emotional Wellbeing Services through the Thrive Framework.
You will be supporting the delivery and development of a range of group work and 1:1 intervention with both children, young people and parents and building the offer of mild-moderate mental health interventions. You will also be committed to supporting a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing across Hartlepool and Stockton. The post holder will train to become qualified in the delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people in an educational setting who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. Additionally, the post holder will work within a Mental Health Support Team and support education settings develop a Whole School Approach to Mental Health & Wellbeing, helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. The post holder will also be responsible for supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.

Partnership Working
To create and maintain effective working relationships with Headteachers, Deputy Heads, SENCOs, Pastoral Team, and wider teaching staff by providing advice and consultative support on emotional and mental health issues, and in relation to appropriate referral pathways for children, young people, and families with mental health needs.
To liaise effectively with other local providers, including statutory, voluntary sector organisations and on behalf of the child, young person, or family.
To build effective working relationships with other local children's mental health providers including CaMHS and support the development of pathways of support.
Attend multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings relating to referrals for children, young people, and families in treatment.

£27,000 a year (£28,500 - £32,000 when qualified).
