Position: Assistant Store Manager / Designate Manager (40 hours per week)

Location: Samsonite Store, 285 Oxford St, London W1C 2DW

Availability: Immediately

DESIGNATE MANAGER

Job Purpose

Assisting the Area Manager with new store openings and store cover within the UK. Will be based in Flagship Oxford St Store as the Deputy Manager. When in base, the Deputy Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the store to achieve optimum store profitability within set budgets and acting as a role model in the absence of the Store Manager.

The Designate Manager position includes, but is not limited to the following major accountabilities:

Store Performance and Analysis

  1. Assists in meeting and exceeding sales plans set for the store within defined budgets.
  2. Understands, assists in collecting and analyzing KPI's using in-house reports flawlessly and constantly working to excel them.

Customer Service
  1. Applies and assists in overseeing adherence of the store team to the 4 mandatory selling standards, with each and every customer.
  2. Applies and assists in overseeing that the store team applies every step of the selling process proposed by Training Manager, exploiting every customer opportunity.
  3. Uses up-to-date technical product knowledge to generate sales.
  4. Actively builds customer loyalty encouraging personal trade.
  5. Provides outstanding and inspiring service that delights beyond customers' expectations by going the extra mile.
  6. Exceeds the company target Mystery Shopping results (75%).
  7. Reflects the values of the brand and demonstrates passion for the brand.
  8. Assists in attracting and recruiting high caliber and talented staff.

Human Resources Management
  1. Assists in developing team spirit.
  2. Assists in training, coaching, motivating, developing, and retaining staff.
  3. Assists in scheduling staff efficiently in compliance with payroll budget using skills and specialties most appropriately in the best interest of the store.

Stock Management
  1. Assists in managing stock.
  2. Ensures correct pricing of products displayed on the shop floor.
  3. Minimizes losses to achieve the company shrinkage target.
  4. Assists in inputting and planning all stock movement and coordinates with the central retail team.

Operations
  1. Assists in overseeing strong compliance with and adherence to each company and, if applicable, center operational policy and procedure (cash and banking, opening and closing, health and safety, etc.).
  2. Completes and maintains all required paperwork meeting the required deadlines.
  3. Maintains permanent store cleanliness and appearance to offer a customer-friendly environment.
  4. Ensures that repairs are handled in a professional way with precise follow-up.

Merchandising, Marketing & Promotions
  1. Maintains store and window presentation and visual merchandising in accordance with defined standards.
  2. Ensures thorough preparation and implementation of promotions and correct use of promotional POS materials.
  3. Assists in maximizing all local marketing opportunities.
  4. Ensures PR and protection of company image.

Communication
  1. Communicates in a clear, polite, courteous and understandable manner and listens to others.
  2. Keeps abreast of local and new market trends in the retail industry, of customer preferences and monitors local competition and shares this info and makes recommendations to the Store Manager.
  3. Assists in overseeing compliance with all company policies and standards.
  4. Complies with personnel dress code and grooming in line with company policy.
  5. Acts as an Ambassador of the Company and of the Company's Brands.

Reporting Line
Designate Manager reports to Area Manager.

Skills Required
  1. Able to travel around the UK and cover other stores for multiple days.
  2. Experienced in opening new stores and training staff of all levels.
  3. Constant standing, bending, frequent lifting of luggage up to 15 kilos.
  4. Experience in Power BI and Microsoft Teams.
  5. Previous luggage experience.
  6. Ability to work under pressure.
  7. Team player and motivator.
  8. Management skills.
  9. Target driven.
  10. Brand awareness.
  11. Flexible.
