Joining Woodgreen as part of our dynamic Retail team, you will help to raise funds to enable our organisation to support every pet to have a home where they are loved, well cared for, and enjoy positive relationships with their owners. You will be coming into the organisation at an exciting time, with a seventh season of Channel 4’s ‘The Dog House’ airing shortly – did we mention we’re proud to be the set for this award-winning show?

As Assistant Shop Manager at our Godmanchester, Kings Bush Farm Charity Shop, you will work as part of our shop management team as they continue to strive for excellence.

Taking full responsibility in the Shop Manager's absence, alongside your own designated tasks, our Assistant Shop Managers will:

1. Maintain continual high standards of shop presentation, back of house operations, and customer service.
2. Present and maintain the highest standards of shop and window merchandising and visual layout.
3. Recruit, train, motivate, manage and support the creation and development of a loyal and engaged team of volunteers.
4. Ensure maximum stock availability through the processing of donations received in the shop.
5. Be responsible for compliance, record keeping, and cash handling.
6. Be a brand ambassador for Woodgreen to work with the local community to raise awareness and engagement for our cause.

With a salary of £23,400 pro rata per annum (equivalent to £12.00 per hour), our two opportunities have a working pattern of either 17.5 hours a week on a Monday, Wednesday, and alternate Fridays and Saturdays or 14.5 hours a week on a Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. It is important to note that as Woodgreen Charity Shops are open 7 days a week, there may be the opportunity, from time to time, to provide cover to support holiday or absences for your Shop Management team or area should you wish to do so.

This competitive salary will be complemented by:

1. Pro rata equivalent of 36 days annual leave per year (inclusive of bank holidays) rising by 1 day each year to 40 days after five years
