London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

We have a vacancy for a motivated Assistant Radiographic Practitioner to join the team at the newly developed Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

We will work as part of a team of State Registered Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners promoting good working practices and ensuring good quality care is given to all patients in the Radiology and x-ray and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) department.

Main duties of the job
  • To perform basic x-ray and DEXA examinations within the limits of individual modules achieved from a recognised accredited training course, and not to exceed those boundaries.
  • To carry out all diagnostic procedures to the highest possible standard in line with departmental protocols and procedures.
  • To report equipment faults to the supervising radiographer and take appropriate action.
  • Understand and observe the principles of radiation safety and participate in the associated QA programmes.
  • To promote total quality care for patients.

Person Specification
  • Certificate in Higher Education in Clinical Imaging (X-RAY OR DEXA) or equivalent.
  • Evidence of CPD.
Knowledge and experience
  • Evidence of modules attained.
  • Performing routine x-ray and DEXA examinations according to departmental protocols.
  • Keyboard skills, use of picture archiving communication system and the computerised radiology information system.
Skills, abilities and attributes
  • Able to work with all disciplines of staff, in teams or as an individual.
  • Mentorship of Trainee Assistant Practitioners.

Salary: £31,081 to £33,665 a year, inclusive of High Cost Allowance.
