About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support their new commercial team on an exciting new project. You will be assisting in optimising profitability and cash flow. You'll be involved in various aspects of surveying, including assisting with subcontractor selection, managing subcontractor accounts, preparing valuations and contributing to financial reporting.

You'll build strong relationships with clients, design teams and the supply chain, working collaboratively across teams to support teamwork and ensure compliance with both business-related and health and safety regulations.

The responsibilities of an Assistant Quantity Surveyor

1. Assist with tenders and procurement processes.
2. Provide general administrative support to the site commercial team.
3. Assist in the management of project risks and opportunities.
4. Assist in preparing costs estimates and financial reports.

Requirements for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

1. Minimum of 3 year's experience working with a main contractor.
2. Understanding and appreciation of achieving the best value outcome.
3. Ability to utilise past knowledge and experience to minimise risks and maximise opportunities.
4. Basic ability to read construction and pre-construction programmes.
5. Sufficient commercial acumen to make considered decisions.
6. Familiar with and ability to use all MS office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
7. Ability to prepare accurate reports.
