Job description

We are recruiting for an Assistant Psychologist to join our psychology team within the adult learning disability service for a fixed term contract for 12 months for 30 hours per week.


The service is a friendly and well established multi-disciplinary team. You will have weekly supervision from a Clinical Psychologist within the team. You will support the psychology team by working both directly with people with learning disabilities and indirectly with families and carers whilst working collaboratively with colleagues to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities. There is a strong ethos of multi-disciplinary working and trauma informed care. There will be the opportunity to support service developments within the team. You will be supported to develop professionally in your career and have access to CPD within the department and more broadly within Bradford District Care Trust.

To provide supervised support to the psychological therapy service and wider team across the range of provision.


Under The Supervision Of a Qualified Practitioner Psychologist

  1. Conduct psychological assessments, including neuropsychological assessments.
  2. Develop psychological formulations for individual service users that contribute towards the overall assessment of their care needs, using an appropriate theoretical framework.
  3. Collaboratively establish individual service user’s goals towards recovery.
  4. Deliver psychological interventions to service users; CBT informed structured interventions, cognitive remediation, guided self-help, co-facilitated group work.
  5. Support the audit and research activities of the service.
  6. Support the psychological therapy services through data collection & analysis as part of audit, service evaluation and research initiatives.
