Role Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the project management team in the successful delivery of highways and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. You will work alongside experienced professionals to assist in managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the planning and execution of highways and infrastructure projects.
  2. Support the project manager in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.
  3. Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
  4. Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and progress updates.
  5. Contribute to risk management and problem-solving efforts to address project challenges.
  6. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
  7. Assist in procurement processes, including vendor selection and contract management.
  8. Support the project manager in stakeholder engagement and communication.

Key Skills And Experience

  1. A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Some experience within the highways and infrastructure sector is desirable.
  3. Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  6. Familiarity with project management software and tools.
  7. A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.
