Job description

Your new company
Hays Belfast are recruiting an Assistant Project Manager on behalf of an industry-leading marine fit-out and refurbishment company specialising in high-end Marine, Retail, Hospitality and commercial projects.
Now seeking to expand its award-winning marine division due to its expansive pipeline of work. Your new company has a stocked portfolio of award-winning projects and a strong commitment to health and safety, learning and development and quality. If you are looking for a company that will see you develop professionally and work on some of maritime hospitality’s most talked about projects, you’ll feel right at home.

Your new role

As Assistant Project Manager, you will work under an experienced Project Manager to ensure your specific responsibilities are completed throughout the lifespan of the project. You will be expected to assist in creating, keeping track of and minimising excess cost in the project budget, ensure that all works are completed to client specification, ensure that project resources such as your team of contractors, subcontractors and materials are managed effectively, ensure site administrative duties are set up and undertaken, set up and produce productivity and budget reports and establish clear targets for those reports, ensure all Health and safety regulations are adhered to, and establish relationships with and regularly liaise with clients to ensure the current project is to specification. Given the nature of your new company's maritime projects, you can expect to work in some of the most attractive holiday destinations to ensure your projects can best cater to the guests, staff and crew who will call your new project home. Primarily based in their head office in Antrim, you will be required to travel for several weeks' durations at a time throughout the year.

What you’ll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need a third level construction qualification or project management experience on interior fit-out type projects and relevant management tickets. To thrive in this role, you should have excellent leadership, planning, communication and organisational skills. While you will be based primarily at home, you will also need to be willing to travel on occasion throughout the year to site to ensure the project is proceeding on time and budget and to client specifications.

What you’ll get in return

In return for your hard work, you can expect a company that will see you develop professionally with excellent learning and development programmes, and a strong pipeline of work. You can also expect a competitive, negotiable package including, but not limited to, travel allowance, 30-day holiday allowance (increasing with tenure), Annual pay review and appraisal, training and development opportunities and Enhanced Maternity and Paternity leave.
