The School of Computer Science is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors / Associate Professors / Professors in Computer Science.


About the School/Department

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Computer Science ( www.nottingham.edu.cn/go/cs ) within the Faculty of Science & Engineering based at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC). The School of Computer Science at UNNC is part of the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, UK, which is ranked among the top UK Computer Science departments ( http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/computerscience/ ). The School at UNNC offers a full range of undergraduate and postgraduate computer science programmes. Supported by major research grants, the School of Computer Science at UNNC is developing strong research in areas including Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Visual Analytics, Computational Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Implementation and Testing, and their applications in manufacturing, transport, healthcare and others.


About You

The successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver lectures and seminars in the topics within School of Computer Science. We are looking for a world-class research leader to strengthen our team of international experts, specializing in at least one of the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Software Engineering
  • Human Computer Interface
  • AI and Operations Research

Candidates must have a PhD in computer science or closely related disciplines, together with an international reputation in research and scholarship. An established track record in high-quality research output and the ability to attract external research funding is a distinct advantage. Teaching and tutorial experience in computer science subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English-speaking institution is also essential.


The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, participate in assessing and examining students, supervise PhD students, perform high-quality research and obtain external research grants.

Successful candidates will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement.
