As an Assistant Principal Design Engineer, you will be required to:
You will be a practical expert in design activities, interfacing with other areas of the business where necessary: Chief Engineers, Programmes, Test Engineering, Manufacturing, etc. You will coach engineers in theoretical and ‘real life' best practices, represent Safran LS as a technical focal for internal and external projects, advise on appropriate technical developments, and influence the Aerospace community in appropriate technological developments. Additionally, you will participate in technical audits & reviews and comply with industry standards, regulations & qualification requirements.
You should be knowledgeable in your field, both internally and externally, with good engineering analysis skills and understanding of Safran Landing Gear design methods. You must be able to understand the formal and informal structures of the organisation, including your own area, SLS, and partner organisations. Additionally, you need to operate with limited supervision in a complex environment.

This post is based in Gloucester. There is the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis from home, for up to 2 days per week, business needs allowing. This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week across 5 weekdays. Working patterns are flexible under the terms of our Flexible working scheme. Applications for working on a reduced hours basis will be considered in line with the needs of the business. Occasional travel may be required. Candidate will need to have full DBS clearance for any offer to be confirmed and possess a British passport.
