Job description

What you'll bring to the team

Calling all LEGO enthusiasts with a lifelong dream of turning their passion into a career! LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester is seeking an Assistant Master Model Builder (AMMB) to join our team and embark on the ultimate LEGO adventure! Are you ready to unleash your creativity and inspire the builders of tomorrow?

This is not just a job — it’s an opportunity to create memorable experiences and bring joy to everyone, from young builders to seasoned LEGO fans. If you’ve got a passion for LEGO and love working with people, this role is for you!

Do you thrive in a role where you can help others and make a difference? Join our team as an AMMB, where you’ll be the face of our company, helping customers navigate their questions and concerns while delivering an exceptional experience. You’ll teach, build and inspire, working collaboratively with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction. If you’re a great communicator, enjoy problem-solving, and are motivated by helping others, we’d love to have you on our team.

This is a full-time, permanent role, working any 5 days out of 7. Our attraction is open daily so full availability is needed, as you’ll be expected to work your fair share of weekends and school/bank holidays.

Qualifications & Experience
  • The Ultimate LEGO Ambassador: Brand knowledge and an enthusiasm to share your love for LEGO and inspire guests to create their own masterpieces.
  • A growth mindset that means you’re always looking for ways to learn, improve, and share your journey with others.
  • A Passion for Teaching & Building: you don’t just build with LEGO; you build connections with people! You’re great at making conversation and teaching others how to bring their ideas to life. Guide guests through interactive workshops, offering a variety of challenges and helping them unlock their creativity.
  • An Outgoing & Fun Personality: charismatic and energetic, you’re always ready to engage with guests, create memorable moments, and spark joy. You have an energy that makes everyone feel included and excited. Be approachable and friendly, engage with guests of all ages, and foster a fun, creative atmosphere.
  • A Creative Mindset: Broadly creative with a hobbyist mentality and passionate about LEGO, with a history of building and a desire to inspire others to do the same.
  • An ability to adapt your approach to fit the model brief and the audience (kids, families, LEGO enthusiasts etc). Identifying customer needs and providing proactive solutions to improve their experience, resolving customer concerns and escalating issues to appropriate departments when necessary.
  • Kid-Approved Communication: you know how to speak to children at their level, creating a fun and engaging environment without talking down to them.
  • Problem-solving abilities and someone who is detail oriented, with an ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations calmly; as well as collaborate with team members to share insights and develop better processes.
  • A Star on Camera: comfortable being filmed whether it’s for TV, social media, or other promotional activities.
Benefits
  • Monthly bonus based on guest satisfaction.
  • 25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants.
  • 40% off LEGO online.
  • Merlin Magic Pass - giving you free tickets to all our attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends every year.
  • Enjoy the Ride Pass – giving you and 5 others a Merlin Annual Pass (Gold edition).
  • Employee pricing up to 55% off cinema tickets.
