Job description

Our Assurance practice encompasses skills across regulation and finance with a deep analytics capability. We harness these to provide Assurance to those charged with governance, serving the public interest. Working in Assurance means you will have an opportunity to work alongside leading experts, as we help build and enhance trust between businesses and the public, by responding to emerging issues and protecting the public interest. Providing assurance to help businesses become more resilient, agile and better prepared for the future.

To be resilient, businesses must be ready to respond to current and future challenges and opportunities. They are increasingly being required to be more transparent with their reporting, to drive trust and confidence in the market, and protect the wider public interest.

Assurance builds, maintains and develops confidence. We provide independent assurance by assessing the risks and underlying processes, providing conclusions as to which risks are being managed and mitigated in line with the business’ appetite for risk. Deloitte’s assurance offerings help those charged with governance to understand their business and build trust amongst key stakeholders and regulators.

Third Party Assurance

Many organisations are required to report on their compliance with regulatory, reporting or licence obligations and have this externally validated. Companies are also outsourcing business processing activities to external companies, or Outsourced Service Providers (OSPs), giving them access to sensitive data and with implications on the internal control environments of these companies. This growing reliance on OSPs and the need for external validation of regulatory compliance and reporting has led to greater demand for third-party assurance programmes and solutions.

In order to address concerns from customers, regulators and stakeholders regarding the services and solutions that companies provide, it is critical for them to manage any potential risk and provide assurance and transparency over those services. One of the most effective ways by which companies can communicate information about their risk management and controls is through Third-Party Assurance.

The Deloitte Third-Party Assurance team assess these risks and controls against a variety of frameworks. We gain an understanding of how the business operates and assess the controls that are relevant to their clients. We then test these controls in a variety of ways, using a range of methods and tools, including analytical testing procedures which are aimed at gaining an understanding of large data sets and complex models. We then report the results of those tests in reports that the company can share with their clients, regulators and other stakeholders. The scope of these reports can cover anything from Cyber Security to Investment Management, and everything in between!

Join our Third-Party Assurance team and gain invaluable insights into the operations of leading businesses. You'll discover how these organisations leverage technology and digital processes to achieve their strategic objectives, drive success and comply with regulatory and licence obligations. Our work directly impacts their broader business strategy, enabling them to effectively manage and mitigate risk.

You’ll get to work on a range of businesses from large international companies listed in the FTSE100 and major public sector concerns to smaller entities – all from a wide range of different industries. Each will give you invaluable knowledge and insight. You may even have the opportunity to travel, as part of your work, to overseas locations as many of the organisations we work with have a global footprint.
