The Diagnostics Directorate has a combined annual revenue budget of over £230 million and over 2,750 staff. The Directorate covers Clinical Physics, Imaging, Laboratories, and Medical Illustration.

Do you fit the requirements?
We are looking for someone who is committed to working in a demanding but enjoyable role in the NHS with a varied portfolio of services that are managed within the Directorate. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and able to use your own initiative with excellent communication, organisational, IT and finance/business skills.
Working closely with the Management Accountants and Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for the provision of a professional financial management service to directorate stakeholders.
The Senior Assistant Management Accountant will assist the Management Accountants and the Senior Management Accountant to lead, coordinate and develop a full Management Accounting and reporting service for the Diagnostics Directorate and to manage, maintain and develop an efficient and effective system of budgetary control and decision making for budget managers within the Diagnostics Directorate.
You will be competent in the management of financial information, financial reporting, budgetary control processes and governance arrangements. Ideally degree/HND qualified in accountancy (or with equivalent work experience), you will have excellent IT skills, good communication skills and the ability to use initiative and deliver to strict timelines while dealing diplomatically with staff at all levels.
