Assistant Management Accountant - Essex - £40,000pa

A well-established, successful business based in Wickford, Essex is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team.

This role could also suit an experienced Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant.

As the Assistant Management Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Reconciling nominal accounts – including VAT control account and sales/purchase ledger accounts.
2. Reconciling supplier statements.
3. Assisting with preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and monthly financial reports.
4. Liaising with clients and suppliers.
5. Investigating account variances and discrepancies.
6. Involvement in bookkeeping, credit control, VAT and CIS returns.
7. Preparing reports for managers.
8. Posting journals and accruals.

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Experience in a similar role.
2. An accounting qualification (ideally AAT Level 4).
3. Proficiency across Microsoft Office (including strong Excel skills).
4. Experience using an accounting software package.
5. Excellent attention to detail.
6. The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines.

The salary on offer is up to £40,000 per annum and a benefits package which includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (which increases with service) and private health care.
