Assistant Management Accountant – Watford (Full-Time, Permanent)

Location: Watford Office

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (Flexible start/finish: 08:30 - 17:30 or 09:00 - 18:00)

The Role

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strategic insight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage high volumes of work within tight deadlines, and enjoys making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist the Financial Controller in preparing and presenting monthly management accounts to the CFO.
2. Manage the balance sheet and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
3. Provide clear insights and justifications for monthly financial results.
4. Maintain and enhance financial systems and processes, driving continuous improvement.
5. Partner with regional managers and operations teams to resolve financial queries.
6. Support the annual audit process and assist with change and simplification projects.
7. Handle additional finance duties as required.

What We’re Looking For

1. Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent).
2. Technical Skills: Strong financial knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with finance systems.
3. Experience: Background in change management is a plus.
4. Attention to Detail: Accuracy and precision in financial reporting.
5. Problem-Solving: Ability to challenge processes and drive improvements.
6. Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
7. Proactive Mindset: A self-starter who takes ownership and demonstrates initiative.
8. Team Player: A collaborative approach, building strong relationships across teams.
