The Vacancy

ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

We currently have a vacancy for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Wates Group Finance team, to support a range of activities within Group Finance.

We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role/environment and ideally be undertaking an accountancy qualification. You will also be competent using Excel (Power BI would be an advantage) with good attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines.

To be successful in the role as an Assistant Management Accountant, you will be a team player with excellent communication skills to effectively maintain internal and external relationships.

Key accountabilities for this role as an Assistant Management Accountant will include:

  • Process monthly cost recharges across contracts and overheads
  • Manage overhead costs; post month end prepayments, accruals, and late contract costs, summarising the monthly and year to date spend against budget
  • Update of fortnightly cashflow model for all cash account movements. Explanations of variances between actual and previous forecast where necessary. Update of forecast elements of monthly cashflow model
  • Prepare monthly contract forecast and meet with contract teams
  • Production of monthly cost packs for sales and marketing
  • Production of weekly management reports for circulation to the business
