Assistant Management Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Management Accountant to play a pivotal role within a growing Accounting & Finance department in an industrial/manufacturing environment in Merthyr Tydfil.

Description

• Manage the daily input of information checking, matching and processing documents
• Identify and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
• Analyse financial information in response to queries from Managers/suppliers/clients.
• Maintain filing systems
• Production of month end finance reporting pack (P&L, balance sheet & cashflows)
• Month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Monitor and manage monthly cashflows and budget
• VAT, PAYE and other taxes - submit VAT returns online and deal with HRMC
• Year end audit planning and preparation
• Stock reconciliations and physical counts
• Financial analysis to be untaken as and when necessary
• Costing of products - materials, people and overhead costs
• Assist with ad hoc finance work as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Company accounting policies
• Identify cost savings through spend analysis
• Monitor supplier performance, resolving or escalating queries where appropriate
• Reconcile Supplier Statements

Profile

A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:

• Qualification Part Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT or QBE
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Excellent analytical skills and experience creating reports and presentations
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team
