Assistant Management Accountant

£35,000 - £40,000 + benefits

12 months fixed term contract

Full time (35 hours per week)

Wimbledon (hybrid and flexible working - office collaboration 2-3 times per month)

The role

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will produce accurate financial data to enable effective decision-making across the business. You will work closely with the Finance team to improve processes and enhance the service offered to the wider CIPD directorates.

What you'll be doing

  1. Using an accounting system to process and manage financial transactions related to the organisation and any other entities within the group.
  2. Posting transactions and month end journals in NetSuite including prepayments, accruals and revenue deferrals.
  3. Day to day accounting activities; managing transactions in the ledger, ensuring coding is accurate and adjusting miscoding before the month end to minimise impact or delays during end of month reporting cycle.
  4. Working across all relevant stakeholders to ensure month end reporting is accurate, on time and all appropriate journals are supported.
  5. Completing revenue reconciliations between Netsuite and other source systems to ensure deferred and accrued income is accurate. Working with other colleagues across the wider finance team where necessary to complete this.
  6. Reconciliation of the Purchase Order System and goods receiving. Working with areas around the business to ensure accurate transaction recording.
  7. Producing management accounts.
  8. Preparing supporting documentation for the year-end audit and liaising with external auditors.
  9. Supporting Finance Business Partners in the budgeting and forecasting process.

What you'll need to be successful

  1. Accounting experience in a similar role, with a focus on ERPs such as Oracle (NetSuite), SAP, Microsoft.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Excel (sumifs, pivot tables, vlookups) and experience of working with accounts systems.
  3. Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience.
  4. Demonstrate integrity, a strong work ethic and a sense of urgency in executing and completing tasks.
  5. Well organised with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  6. Effective time management and experience of working towards set deadlines.
  7. Confident communicator with high level of attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication.
  8. Curious and proactive when addressing improvement in process. Solution focused mindset.
