Assistant Management Accountant

The client is a rapidly growing fashion retail business that is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. The company is relocating their headquarters from Hong Kong (as part of their parent company) to London. They have grown very quickly across the UK and Europe and are looking to grow the finance function here in the West End (Holborn).

The team is made up of 4 people, and you will be reporting directly into the Finance Manager. The role will give the successful Assistant Management Accountant the opportunity to have a wealth of exposure to all areas of accounts and there will be lots of growth opportunity in this role. The business is growing quickly, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to access responsibilities outside the job spec!

Description

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

1. Assist with the monthly preparation of the management accounts (alongside the Finance Manager)
2. Accruals and prepayments
3. VAT returns
4. Balance sheet reconciliations
5. End to end management of the Accounts Payable ledger
6. Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting
7. Variance analysis
8. Ad hoc reporting

Profile

The successful Assistant Management Accountant will:

1. Have 3-4 years experience working in Accounting and Finance
2. MUST have a strong level of AP and month-end experience in a small finance team
3. Prior working knowledge from a finance team in the retail/fashion industry (desirable, not essential)
4. Strong Excel skills
5. Studying towards the ACCA, CIMA or ACA exams
6. High attention to detail
7. Willingness to learn and grow
