Assistant/Junior Surveyor - Super Prime Construction and Maintenance

Prime Residential Developer – Kensington, London

Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum.

Permanent position with long term career prospects.

Company Overview:

Our client is a well established, privately owned Prime Residential Developer based in Kensington, London. With over 20 years of experience, they have built a reputation for delivering ultra high end, bespoke single dwelling residences in the London Super Prime market.

The company has a multidisciplinary leadership team, ensuring every project is meticulously planned and executed to the highest standards. All projects are bespoke, with build costs typically around £10 million and resale values ranging from £20-£30 million.

Our client employs its own in-house construction team, managing projects directly while working closely with specialist subcontractors.

In addition to new developments, they also manage a portfolio of high end residential properties in Chelsea and Kensington.

The Role:

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail oriented Assistant Surveyor to support their Senior Surveyor and Technical Director across a range of responsibilities spanning both property management and high end construction.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior professional with a hands-on approach and a strong willingness to learn.

As a multi faceted role this position would suit a graduate with a few years of experience in Building Surveying or Quantity Surveying.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Construction (Live Project)
2. Technical Support: Review and update project documentation, conduct measured surveys, and help resolve site queries.
3. Scheduling & Procurement: Measure and plan materials from drawings, coordinate work schedules, liaise with suppliers, obtain quotes, and manage purchasing to ensure accurate site deliveries.
4. Site Reporting & Quality Control: Oversee maintenance works, monitor site progress, inspect for accuracy and quality, resolve defects, and maintain clear project records, including photographic documentation.
5. Setting Out & Site Supervision: Support setting out work, monitor subcontractors, ensure compliance with plans, and manage snagging and remedial works.

1. Property Management & Maintenance: Address tenant concerns, investigate and resolve maintenance issues, oversee defect rectification during warranty periods, and conduct routine inspections of managed properties.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

1. Essential: 1-6 years of experience in building surveying or quantity surveying.
2. Hands-on, practical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and within a team.
4. Good technical knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.
5. Some experience with setting out and quality control.
