What does an Assistant Hotel Manager do?
The Assistant Hotel Manager is the Hotel Manager's 'go to' person, contributing to the success of the site both in the absence of, and alongside, the Hotel Manager. The Assistant Hotel Manager works closely with the Hotel Manager as part of the hotel management team, supporting the Hotel Manager by undertaking delegated tasks that focus on employee engagement and delighting guests, all whilst being responsible for running a profitable, safe and well-maintained hotel.
Your Team:
- Responsible for contributing to the performance, development and retention of the hotel team.
- Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
- Role model the Atlas values and challenge those that aren't meeting behavioral standards.
- Communicate key focus areas and priorities to the team.
- Nurture a learning culture in the hotel, supervising, coaching, and guiding the hotel team.
- Support the Hotel Manager with recruitment and ensure new members receive a thorough 'Atlas Hero' Induction.
Your Guests and Your Hotel:
- Primary contact for the hotel in the absence of the Hotel Manager, ensuring every guest has a great experience.
- Role model excellent guest interactions and support with service recovery.
- Stay updated with guest feedback and work with the Hotel Manager to create/execute action plans.
- Support the Hotel Manager to ensure the hotel passes all evaluations and audits.
Driving Growth:
- Understand key cost lines/targets for the hotel and work towards achieving them.
- Maximise Food and Beverage opportunities in your hotel.
Compliance:
- Work with the Hotel Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety, employee mandatory training, GDPR, financial controls, and Atlas Hotels' policies.
What you will need:
- Proven experience of supervising a successful team in a customer-facing environment.
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude to engage the team.
- Experience in environments with clear frameworks/Standard Operating Procedures.
- Organised and systematic, effective at prioritising and multi-tasking.
- Confident in making decisions in the absence of the Hotel Manager.
- Quick thinking with problem-solving skills.
- Effective communicator, building relationships with employees at all levels.
- Confident in delivering both positive and constructive feedback.
