Salary: Main Pay Scale:L11-15 £73,225.00 - £79,700.00 (based on 2024-2025)

Preston Park Primary School is looking for an innovative, committed, and outstanding Assistant Headteacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work as part of the school's senior leadership team, assisting in the promotion, direction, and oversight of high standards of teaching and learning, pupil achievement, and progression within our school. One of the core focuses for this role includes overseeing safeguarding and pastoral care within the school. Previous experience in both safeguarding and pastoral care within a school setting is essential. Please note that the successful individual will be required to be flexible and could be allocated to different year groups depending on the needs of the school in the future.

The Person:

We are looking for an individual who can share the founding vision and ethos for Preston Park. (Please visit the school and look on the school’s website.)

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of working as an Assistant Headteacher within EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2.
  • A team player with energy, stamina, and lots of creativity and fresh ideas.
  • Previous experience in both safeguarding and pastoral care within a school setting is essential.
  • A Qualified Teacher with QTS Status and substantial teaching experience in at least two settings.
  • Able to demonstrate previous successful teaching experience: modelling excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Able to demonstrate experience in giving effective and efficient feedback to move learning on, including monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Able to demonstrate successful leadership experience as a middle or senior leader with a proven track record of improving pupil outcomes.
  • Excited by the chance to contribute to Preston Park Primary and driven to do what it takes to succeed.
  • Skilled in effectively supporting children for whom English is a second language.
