Eastleigh Swim Club based in Eastleigh is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed person to join us as our new Assistant Head Coach.

Eastleigh Swim Club is a well-established and friendly SwimMark-accredited club based at Places Leisure in Eastleigh, with additional sessions run at Oaklands Community Pool in Southampton. We operate an integrated development programme which starts with our swim school and produces swimmers who have competed at county, regional and national levels. We have around 150 swimmers in our swim school and another 150 swimmers across our squads. Our Masters programme, successfully running for a year, is one of the club's newest exciting developments. With 18 active swimmers, we are keen to further integrate this group into the club’s activities, building on their recent participation in our club championships and aiming for county/national competitions in the future.

Our club is looking for an ambitious and committed person to assist our Head Coach in leading the team, and in return offers a genuine opportunity for the right candidate to play a major role in shaping its future.

We are looking for someone with these 5 key attributes:

  1. Comfortable working collaboratively with swimmers, parents, coaches and the committee to promote a positive and inclusive environment which reflects the club’s culture and ethos.
  2. Able to work effectively with our Head Coach to ensure the club's strategy is implemented, helping all our swimmers to maximise their potential.
  3. Confident in providing both leadership and support to our team of dedicated coaches and teachers.
  4. Able to adapt their approach to successfully engage with swimmers of varying abilities and aspirations.
  5. Keen to inspire through their enthusiasm.

The role is part-time and will include morning and evening training sessions. It will also involve attending open meets and county/regional weekends. However, we’re a pragmatic club and flexible in our approach, so we can likely accommodate your working patterns.

The successful candidate will at minimum hold an ASA Level 2 Coaching Award or the Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate. You will either already be an Assistant Head Coach at another club or be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient experience to step up into the role.

We offer a competitive rate of pay which is dependent on experience and are looking to move quickly with this appointment. We will be scheduling initial interviews for the beginning of January, with the successful candidate ideally able to join us shortly after.

Any offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references, demonstrable right to work in the UK and a DBS check.

We’re a friendly bunch so even if you’re not sure about applying, please get in touch for an informal exploratory chat.
