Description
Are you a NEBOSH-qualified individual with knowledge and experience in the construction sector, looking for a move with strong development opportunities? I’ve partnered with a leading building materials company during a burgeoning period of growth, looking for a H&S Assistant to join their ranks. The role will give you exposure to a range of environments, including manufacturing, process engineering, and construction. You will be covering a site portfolio across the Southern Home Counties.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
- Conducting site audits to monitor the Health & Safety standards on each site and preparing audit reports.
- Suggesting and implementing improvements on-site and subsequently monitoring to ensure that the required improvement actions are completed.
- Inducting new start erectors to ensure that they understand the risks, methods, and standards expected when working on the company’s sites.
- Checking the qualifications of erectors on site to ensure they meet or exceed the minimum standards required.
- Carrying out training and toolbox talks to educate site personnel and ensure they understand the standards expected.
- Completing accident investigation reports.
- Preparing and altering RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) as required.
- Assisting the Head of SHE as required with any other documentation, administration, training, and projects.
You will be a key operational asset; this role is significant and knowledge of safety, health & environmental legislation and current construction practices is key. Key qualifications and experience include:
- Ability to demonstrate education to a good standard – preferably to higher education or above.
- Membership of IOSH.
- NEBOSH General (Minimum) and NEBOSH Construction (preferable) certified.
- You must have a current UK driving licence and use of a personal car for work-related usage.
- Self-motivated and positive attitude with good communication skills and able to deal with site installation teams, colleagues, senior management, and customers.
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly to suit the needs and demands of the role.
- A sound appreciation of Health & Safety practices on site (e.g., risk assessments, accident investigations, induction, and training etc.).
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to cement a long-term career in H&S for a culturally excellent organisation with a very bright future. You will earn between £35-45k plus car allowance and full package.
