Job description

The role of Assistant FP&A Accountant sits within the FP&A team. The role is responsible for assisting in the creation of Finance Reporting to the Board and other stakeholders. This includes assisting in the production of the Firm's monthly management accounts, Exec/Board level financial reporting including written Board reporting, reconciling the Firm's cashflow and supporting the FP&A Analyst team.

What You'll Do:
  1. Deputising for the Senior FP&A Accountant / Project Accountant or other team members as required.
  2. Assisting with the month end close to timetable, liaising with Financial Control, Business Services and Commercial Finance teams.
  3. Preparing Firmwide management accounting adjustments, for example the valuation of WIP, rebates, PI and aged debt provisioning.
  4. Preparing Firmwide cashflow Plans and Forecasts and reconciling cashflow on a weekly/monthly basis including as necessary, ad-hoc cashflow modelling.
  5. Providing help and guidance to other members of the FP&A team specifically ensuring that best practice is followed, and reports are produced in the most effective, efficient, and accurate manner.
  6. Assisting in compiling commentary for the CFO, Partnership and Board.
  7. Working closely with the Financial Control team to ensure management accounts adhere to Group policy.
Who We're Looking For:
  1. Be in the final stages of studying towards a professional qualification ( ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
  2. A detailed working knowledge of relevant finance and reporting systems, including Excel (advanced level) and Power BI.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  4. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to write insightful finance and commercial commentaries based upon sound financial analysis.
  5. Strong organisation and multitasking skills.
