Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Assistant Financial Controller to help shape our financial success. You will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, drive efficiencies, support strategic decisions, and embed Finance as a true business partner.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Partnering: Collaborate with operational teams to integrate Finance within the business and drive strategic decision-making.
2. Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of seven, providing coaching and performance management.
3. Operational: Manage day-to-day finance tasks, including invoicing, AR, AP, GL, cost accounting, and payroll. Assist with monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance, assist with year-end processes, and support internal controls.
5. Budgeting: Help prepare and submit annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

Ideal Experience / Skills

1. A degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent finance focused subject and/or a professional finance qualification.
2. Proven experience of working in a similar role and/or at an equivalent level in a comparable business.
3. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups).
4. Experience of working in manufacturing or a similar industry sector would be highly beneficial.
5. Fluent in written and spoken English.
