Job description

Fancy getting stuck into a fast-paced finance role where no two days are the same? We're on the lookout for a sharp, qualified (or nearly there) Assistant Financial Controller to join our well-known client's high-performing finance team.

You'll be working closely with the Group Financial Controller, helping to pull together accurate and timely management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cashflows. There's a good mix of reporting, business partnering and getting stuck into the numbers - all in a busy environment where your input really matters. You'll be based out of the South Tamworth site 4 days per week, with a salary of up to £50,000 on offer, plus some great benefits!

What you'll be doing:
  1. Producing and reviewing monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheets, etc.)
  2. Regular cash flow reporting
  3. Balance sheet reconciliations and statutory accounts preparation
  4. Supporting external audits and liaising with auditors
  5. Helping improve reporting processes - automation encouraged!
  6. Working closely with department heads to help them understand their budgets
  7. Keeping an eye on spend and looking out for efficiency wins
  8. Supporting capex investments and major project spends
  9. Making sure we're ticking all the right boxes when it comes to accounting standards and internal policies
  10. Helping maintain robust systems and financial procedures
About you:
  1. Qualified accountant or finalist (CIMA/ACCA)
  2. Experience in producing management and statutory accounts
  3. Solid understanding of business partnering - you know how to work with non-finance people
  4. Sharp analytical skills and solid Excel knowledge
  5. Confident communicator - written and verbal
  6. Able to juggle priorities and hit deadlines like a pro
