Assistant Financial Controller

  • Hourly Rate: £30 per hour
  • Job Type: Temporary
  • Location: Diss with hybrid working

Reed Finance are seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our clients finance team on a temporary basis for up to 6 months. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our client's financial operations. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of financial processes including month-end closing, stock management, cost control, and reporting.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Take a lead role in month-end closing activities, including company accounting, transport accounting, and ancillary stocks.
  • Manage stock effectively to ensure accuracy and optimal levels.
  • Play a key role in cost management through daily and weekly cost control activities.
  • Maintain key controls reporting and conduct quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Handle fixed asset accounting and manage statistical reporting both internally and externally.
  • Responsible for daily KPI reporting and goods receipt processing.
  • Manage weekly expenses payments and conduct quality audits.
  • Oversee payroll administration and participate in annual reporting activities such as sustainability reports, tax packs, and packaging waste reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial control or a similar role.
  • Candidate must be immediately available or on short notice for this position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
