Job Description

Location: Head Office | Leicestershire

As one of the UK’s most iconic retailers and a proud FTSE 100 PLC, we’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Retail Cost Team within our wider Commercial Finance function.

If you’re part-qualified in ACCA or CIMA, have 1–2 years of experience in a finance role, and are looking to build your career with a business that values ambition and progression – this is your opportunity.

What you’ll be doing:

In this varied and rewarding role, you'll support the financial management of our extensive property portfolio – including over 600 stores, warehouses, and offices – and be instrumental in key reporting and forecasting activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Business Rates Management
    • Account for and analyse business rates across all UK properties.
    • Work closely with third-party rating agents to keep our data accurate and up to date.
  • Professional Property Fees
    • Collaborate with Estates and Tax teams to manage, review and report professional fee costs across our property estate.
  • Concession Income Reconciliation
    • Manage income streams from over 230 concession partners – from cafés to babywear – ensuring every figure is accounted for.
  • Project Involvement
    • Get hands-on with system and data improvement projects, including enhancing our property database and reporting capabilities.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting
    • Prepare monthly forecasts and lead on budgeting cycles for our lease portfolio, identifying key cost and income movements.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and monthly management accounts for our Estates division, sharing insightful commentary with senior leaders.
  • Process Improvement
    • NEXT is always evolving. You'll have the chance to suggest, lead, and implement process improvements in your area of responsibility.
About you:

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to take ownership and grow into a well-rounded finance professional. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Part-qualified in ACCA or CIMA
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a finance, accounting or analytical role
  • A confident user of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Organised and able to manage multiple deadlines
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset and eagerness to learn
