Assistant Farm Manager - Join The Flock!

Are you passionate about farming, animal welfare, and working in a dynamic, hands-on environment? Our client is looking for an Assistant Farm Manager to support the Farm Manager in running a top-performing operation, ensuring birds are healthy and raised to the highest standards.

What You Will Be Doing:
  1. Assisting in all aspects of farm management to optimise performance and maintain top-quality stock.
  2. Ensuring birds meet weight, quality, and welfare standards while working within budgets and targets.
  3. Providing relief cover for Farm Managers as needed, keeping farms running smoothly.
  4. Managing a small but efficient team, ensuring productivity, training, and motivation.
  5. Handling the logistics - transporting birds to veterinary services and delivering essential goods between farms.
  6. Keeping records up to date, ordering supplies, and ensuring weekly reports are submitted.
  7. Taking part in vaccinations, bird weighing, catching, and processing, ensuring accuracy and smooth operations.
  8. Maintaining farm security, safety, and hygiene, ensuring a clean and professional environment.
  9. Monitoring and adjusting ventilation, heating, feed, water, and lighting to create the best conditions for our birds.
  10. Troubleshooting minor equipment issues and working with maintenance teams to keep everything running efficiently.
What You Will Need:

Essential:

  1. Full driving license
  2. Strong people skills and leadership abilities
  3. Sound decision-making skills
  4. Basic computer literacy

Desirable:

  1. Experience in farming or a similar field
  2. Previous supervisory experience
  3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
