Assistant Farm Manager

Are you passionate about farming and looking for a hands-on management role?

Join our well-established and expanding co-operative farming client, specializing in high-quality sweetcorn, squash, and pumpkins for both retail and wholesale markets.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct day-to-day farming operations, including tractor and forklift driving.
  2. Crop walking with an agronomist to maintain high-quality standards.
  3. Oversee irrigation and crop husbandry.
  4. Procure necessary farming inputs.
  5. Manage and motivate a small team for efficiency and productivity.
  6. Assist the Farm Manager in planting, robotic weeding, harvesting, and packing seasonal crops.
  7. Perform general farm work, maintenance, and seasonal planning between November and March.
  8. Supervise machinery maintenance, labour management, and oversee crop production from planting to dispatch.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Experience in managing seasonal labour within the horticultural industry.
  2. A keen interest in learning about different crops (training provided where necessary).
  3. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  4. Practical hands-on approach with machinery and farm operations.
