The University of Strathclyde is seeking an Assistant Finance Business Partner for the Faculty of Engineering to provide accounting support to the Faculty Finance Business Partners, who are responsible for the financial management of the Faculty budgets, which support delivery of the University’s overall financial strategy. As a key part of the Finance Business Partnering team, you will help the University build on its strong financial position and meet the challenges of the current economic climate and the changing Higher Education Sector.

The role will support the provision of management information for both strategic and operational purposes, including financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, risk analysis and business plan appraisal. The post holder will work under the direction of a Faculty Finance Business Partner and in conjunction with the Faculty Management team and senior Departmental teams. The post holder will help provide information on financial planning to the Faculty’s key decision-making bodies and provide input to the management of the Faculty’s financial resources. This role provides the opportunity to play an exciting part in the delivery of high-quality financial support to help meet the University’s ambitious strategic plan.

You should ideally be qualified with a recognised body such as CIMA, ACCA or CIPFA. Part-qualified or unqualified candidates seeking a qualification but at an earlier stage, with a particularly strong financial background and knowledge of accounting principles may also be considered with any subsequent appointment being made initially at Grade 6. Support towards completion of a qualification will be provided.

Knowledge of the Higher Education sector would be desirable but is not essential. Enthusiasm, commitment, and strong collaborative interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of problem-solving and decision-making will make the role a success.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 6 and 7 May 2025.
