We have a new opportunity as an Assistant Ecologist to join our Environment and Design Team to assist in delivering an integrated service across the disciplines of Ecology, Landscape, Heritage, and Archaeology.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will provide advice to Development Management by assessing impacts on biodiversity arising from planning applications and advising on the acceptability of surveys, method statements, planning conditions, monitoring requirements and habitat management.
You will support the Ecology Team in delivering specialist ecological services across the Council.
You will be promoting the integration of biodiversity issues into the work of the authority in line with its statutory duty under section 40 of the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act (2006) and the Environment Act (2021).

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You should have a degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or other relevant subject together with experience of habitat and species surveys, condition assessments and site evaluations.
You will have knowledge of protected species and wider UK wildlife legislation.
