UCLH are seeking an outstanding leader for the largest Division in UCLH, which incorporates the UK's largest neuroscience centre and one of the largest neuroscience centres in the world.

We are seeking an ambitious, motivated, adaptive and driven candidate to deliver upon the many opportunities this role presents.

As Assistant Divisional Manager for the £280m turnover Queen Square Division within the Specialist Hospitals Board of UCLH, you will work with a high performing team to ensure high quality, efficient, timely and patient-focused clinical services. With a track-record of delivery of demanding agendas, you will lead your team in providing exceptional management support.

The role covers a range of support to delivery for specialities including neurology, specialist services, outpatients, as well as interventional and inpatient directorate, as well as Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, and diagnostics. The post is responsible for incredibly exciting developments such as capital projects, large business cases and significant transformation programmes.

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is one of the most complex NHS trusts in the UK, serving a large and diverse population. We provide academically led acute and specialist services, to people from the local area, from throughout the United Kingdom and overseas. Our vision is to deliver top-quality patient care, excellent education, and world-class research.

We provide first-class acute and specialist services across eight sites:

  1. University College Hospital (incorporating the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing)
  2. National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
  3. Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals
  4. University College Hospital Grafton Way Building
  5. Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine
  6. University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre
  7. The Hospital for Tropical Diseases
  8. University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street

We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of many complex illnesses. UCLH specialises in women’s health and the treatment of cancer, infection, neurological, gastrointestinal and oral disease. It has world class support services including critical care, imaging, nuclear medicine and pathology.

We are committed to sustainability and have pledged to become a carbon net zero health service, embedding sustainable practice throughout UCLH. We have set an ambitious target of net zero for our direct emissions by 2031 and indirect emissions by 2040.

This is a time of outstanding opportunity for the Division. Neuroscience is one of UCLH's strategic priorities, and a building programme has recently delivered new angio suites, interventional MRI and an expanded neuromuscular complex care centre.

The Division is also looking forward to the opening of an exciting facility on the Gray’s Inn Road site in conjunction with UCL/DRI to open 21 new outpatient rooms and 4 new UCLH MRI scanners. Queen Square leads the world in delivering advanced neuroscience therapeutics through commercial and non-commercial trials in a dedicated clinical research facility as well as maintaining collaborative links with UCL Institutes to be world-leading in clinical neuroscience research.

Come and be a part of the best NHS trust in England to work for, according to our staff.

In the most recent NHS staff survey UCLH had the highest percentage of staff who said they would recommend us as a place to work, out of all general acute or acute/community NHS trusts in England – for the second year in a row.
