An established industry player is seeking an Assistant Director of Legal & Democratic Services to lead governance and legal matters within a local authority. This exciting role offers the flexibility of remote working with occasional in-person meetings. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in local government law, particularly as a Monitoring Officer, and will be responsible for managing a team while overseeing complex legal cases. Assistant Director of Legal & Democratic Services & Monitoring Officer
Rate: £700 - £800 per day umbrella (Locum/Interim)
Location: South East
Working: Remote (In person Counsel meeting once every 2 months)
About the Role:
An assistant director is required to join a local authority in the South East on a temporary basis for a period of 3+ Months whilst an extended period of permanent recruitment takes place.
Our client is ideally looking for someone to be the lead on governance matters across the council and provide light touch management across the legal service whilst acting in a monitoring officer capacity.
This role is offered on a remote working basis with the expectation of attending the office once every couple of months for council meetings. Due to the nature of the role, the client would like someone to take on the position on a full-time basis, however part-time candidates who can commit to 4 days per week will also be considered.
This role is suitable for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Monitoring Officer Experience gained within Local Government.
