Job description

About the Council
H&F is a forward-thinking, ambitious local authority in the heart of West London. With a strong commitment to delivering excellence for our residents, businesses, and communities, we are shaping an innovative future—one that is financially sustainable, efficient, and driven by a strong commercial outlook.
Our borough is undergoing significant transformation, with major development and regeneration projects—including the arrival of HS2—offering exciting opportunities to create a thriving and dynamic environment. We are committed to being a modern, high-performing council that works collaboratively with residents, businesses, and stakeholders to provide outstanding services.
Following a corporate restructure, we are aligning our property management, ensuring we manage our extensive portfolio efficiently and strategically. This is a pivotal time to join H&F, bringing energy, leadership, and a fresh perspective to drive service improvement and innovation.
About the Role
The council is seeking an experienced property professional to lead its newly structured Corporate Property function. This is a high-profile leadership role offering the opportunity to transform how the organisation manages its corporate estate, embedding a modern, commercially focused approach while delivering significant financial savings and improving service standards.
Reporting to the Director of Planning and Property, you will oversee a wide-ranging portfolio, ensuring assets are strategically managed to support the council’s long-term objectives. You will be responsible for leading the development of the council’s corporate property function, ensuring that facilities management, workplace support, and asset management services operate cohesively under a single vision. There will be a strong focus on improving operational efficiency, delivering major strategic projects, and embedding a culture of driving consistency in property standards, financial accountability, and service quality.
Alongside this, the role will lead on health and safety compliance across the council’s estate, ensuring that all legal, regulatory, and risk management requirements are met. Working closely with specialist teams, you will ensure that systems are in place for compliance auditing, building safety, and workplace risk management.
About You
This role requires a confident, commercially astute, and solutions-focused leader who can drive change and establish a high-performing corporate property service. The successful candidate will be an experienced property professional with a strong technical background. They will bring a track record of successfully leading property transformation programmes, managing complex estates, and delivering efficiency savings while improving service standards.
As a key senior leader, they will need to demonstrate strong influencing skills, working closely with senior executives, elected members, and external stakeholders to ensure that property strategies align with broader organisational priorities.
The ability to inspire and develop teams will be essential, as the postholder will be leading a diverse range of multidisciplinary services. The council is looking for an individual with the confidence and leadership skills to drive a cultural shift in property management, embedding a modern and commercially driven approach that supports the council’s long-term financial sustainability. They must be able to navigate a complex political environment, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a collaborative mindset to the role.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious and forward-thinking property professional to make a significant impact in a dynamic and evolving London borough.
Apply now and be part of our journey to create a high-performing, sustainable and future-focused property service in H&F.
