The Role

As an Assistant Credit Controller within the finance department, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our sales ledger. You will assist in ensuring accurate credit control processes, whilst having responsibility for all customer credit applications for existing and new customers. You will work closely with the Credit Control team, sales and finance teams to ensure all accounts are managed effectively, in line with company policies and objectives.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review and process customer credit applications, ensuring appropriate credit limits are set using established credit insurance and credit checking protocols across various platforms.
  • Maintain and update customer finance and credit records while collaborating with customers and other departments within the Swegon Group.
  • Manage and monitor Atradius credit limits, ensuring they are accurately administered.
  • Assist in overseeing and managing Group email inboxes.
  • Address customer inquiries and coordinate with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Provide general credit control administrative support, including covering for team holidays.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with people at all levels, confidently communicating with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders to resolve issues and provide excellent service. You should be a quick learner, able to grasp new processes and systems with ease, adapting quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment. A strong team player, you will collaborate effectively with others, supporting colleagues and working towards common goals while contributing to a positive and productive team dynamic. You should be confident and professional in your approach, with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively manage customer interactions. The ideal candidate will be able to handle pressure, manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy. Strong IT skills are also essential to succeed in this role.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience of working within a Finance Department.
  • Experience of dealing with customer queries.
  • Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths & English.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics is beneficial, and knowledge of the HVAC industry or experience with large-scale construction projects is an advantage.
  • Experience of credit control within a financial department.
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
