Assistant Compliance Officer

£35,588 - £39,248

Pullar House, Perth

The Compliance Team deal with a complex array of servicing and maintenance contracts to ensure legal health & safety compliance and assist in informing the Planned Maintenance programmes. We have an immediate need for an Assistant Compliance Officer to assist in overseeing our planned preventative maintenance contracts and to ensure compliance with regulations and standards, including the Health & Safety Executives Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance, across the non-domestic property estate portfolio.

Role

This will be a challenging role within a dynamic multi disciplinary office. Main accountabilities for the role are to assist the Compliance Officers with:

  • The management of our Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance Contracts for mechanical systems (for example: water management (L8), gas safety management, ventilation systems, LEV & fume cupboards, swimming & hydrotherapy pools, commercial catering equipment, etc).
  • Reviewing any servicing reports, interpreting results and instructing any remedial action required.
  • Providing practical knowledge of plumbing and water systems, suggesting solutions to resolve issues identified.
  • Auditing of our mechanical systems throughout the property estate to inform future programmes of upgrade works required.
  • Ensuring all documentation is submitted on time and is acceptable.
  • Auditing contractors to ensure they are carrying out their statutory duties and highlighting any non-conformities to the relevant Compliance Officer.
  • Ensuring all remedial works are completed promptly and efficiently.
  • Developing and maintaining an asset register of all mechanical plant and equipment including provision of associated drawings used within the property estate.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of accurate records for all property compliance works providing data, performance indicators and reports as required.
  • Checking and validating contractor applications for payment.
  • The procurement of competent contractors.
  • To support with the management of other planned preventative disciplines as required.
Skills & Experience Required

Are you a qualified plumber with water and gas safety management experience or do you have an HNC (or equivalent) in a building services related discipline? We would welcome applicants who can demonstrate that they are dedicated to working to a high standard and provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Ideally you will hold the following qualifications, however these are not mandatory because training will be provided to the successful candidate:

  • Water Supply (Water Fittings) (Scotland) Byelaws 2014
  • Legionella Awareness
  • P900 Control of Legionella in Domestic Hot & Cold Water Systems or equivalent
  • P901 Management and Control of Building Hot & Cold Water Services or equivalent
To undertake the role, we require excellent planning and organisational skills along with the ability to ensure target deadlines are achieved.

Attention to detail is an essential criterion for this role. Supervisory skills are required as the post holder will be responsible for assisting with the management of contractors.

You must hold a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth & Kinross.

A good working knowledge in the use of computer packages including Microsoft applications and CAFM systems.
