Sainsburys Bank - Assistant Company Secretary

By joining us as Assistant Company Secretary, you will ensure efficient governance, regulatory compliance, and effective Company Secretarial support to the Bank's key committees. You will work closely with the Company Secretary, providing assistance in managing board and committee meetings, maintaining records, and contributing to the Bank's corporate governance framework. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will have the chance to streamline processes and stay up-to-date with corporate governance best practices.

What you'll do

You will be supporting the Company Secretary to ensure efficient governance of Sainsbury's Bank. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance.
  2. Providing proactive and effective Company Secretarial support to the Bank's Board, Board Sub-Committees, and Executive Committees.
  3. Creating, documenting, and maintaining accurate records of papers, presentations, and decisions taken at key Governance committees.
  4. Arranging Board and Committee meetings and deputising for the Company Secretary when necessary.
  5. Contributing to the improvement and streamlining of the Bank's Corporate Governance framework.
  6. Maintaining regulatory and statutory records.
  7. Liaising with stakeholders to ensure smooth organisation of key Governance committees.
  8. Staying updated with Corporate Governance best practices.
  9. Managing the Bank's relationship with external service providers.

Your attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritise workload, and professional approach will contribute to your success in this role.

Who you are

You are a highly experienced professional with a background in company secretarial or legal functions. Your exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage and prioritise your workload ensure the efficient governance of the Bank, maintaining regulatory and statutory compliance. Your proficiency in word processing, note-taking, and secretarial tasks, combined with your knowledge of various software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, enable you to efficiently create and maintain records, arrange meetings, prepare minutes, and handle the Bank's Annual Report process.
